School Meals

School Lunches

Meals are cooked in the kitchen adjoining the dining hall.  At present, the cost of a meal is £2.15 for all primary pupils unless the family qualifies for free meals. Please ask our school support staff for more details.  Dinner money is paid on a daily basis using our till system. Please note that we are unable of offer credit. School meals must be paid for on the day that a meal is to be taken. If this is not possible you must provide alternative arrangements for your child’s lunch such as home sandwiches.

Sandwich meals are available from the school. The cost of these is the same as for a cooked meal.

School meals are provided under private contract, which makes it necessary for the collection of dinner money via the till and the daily check on children requiring meals to be completed as early as possible.  The canteen now requires accurate numbers before 10.00 am each day.  Any requests for meals made after this time may have to be refused. Occasionally, parents find that due to an emergency, they need to have their child stay at short notice. On such occasions payment will be accepted on that morning.  We rely on the co-operation of parents so that this only occurs in real emergencies.

Children who bring packed lunches eat them in the dining hall.  In the interest of safety, food and drink must NOT be brought to school in glass containers, nor in flasks with glass inserts.

HEALTHY SCHOOL: We are a healthy school and encourage children to eat healthy packed lunches meeting Welsh Government Appetite for Life requirements
