General Information:

All children need to be in full school uniform. Please ensure all uniform is clearly labelled with your child's name. We will write this in if necessary. NO necklaces, hooped or dangly earrings or rings are to be worn in school. This is for health and safety reasons.

Please make sure your child brings in a piece of fruit for snack and is provided with a packed lunch and water in a water bottle.

Schools dinners are free to all of our children. Our school dinner menu can be viewed on the school website. Children will select their meal on a daily basis.

If your child has asthma, please bring a pump in a labelled box to be kept in school. Please let us know if your child takes any regular medication.

The timetable for the class this term:

PE-  Alternate Monday and Wednesday

Please bring a PE kit to school at the start of each half term. PE kits will be sent home at the end of each half term to be washed ready for the new half term. Please provide your child with black shorts/ tracksuit bottoms, coloured house PE top (or an old top that can be left in school) and trainers for outdoors.

Forest School- Forest Friday

Please bring a pair of wellies or old shoes for Forest School sessions. It would be advisable to have a coat on a DAY just in case the weather becomes colder/ wet.

If you would like to send a change of clothes as the weather changes that will support us in being able to achieve these sessions successfully.

Curriculum

Our topic during the Autumn term is 'How to Change the World'.

Phonics and Letter Formation

We follow the  Read Write Inc. scheme for sounds. We will send home letter formation practice sheets in folders as children learn new sounds. They will have already completed the one side in school and you will be able to see their wonderful work. It would be fantastic if you could then complete the empty side with your child and send it back to school in the folder.  Each letter has a rhyme to help the children form the letter correctly. Please encourage your child to say this as they write the letter.

Reading Books

A reading book and reading record will be sent home weekly. Please can you update the reading record and return both to school in the reading bag on your child's reading day. The reading day will be written inside your child's reading record.

We are grateful for all your continuing support and we are excited for the year ahead!
