Uniform Information

School Uniform

The school uniform consists of red pullovers or cardigans, red/ white polo shirt and grey/ black trousers, skirts or pinafore dresses.  All clothing should be marked clearly with the child’s name otherwise it is difficult to trace any that have been mislaid.

Our suppliers are Macy Sports of Caerleon Road or AJP embroidery and sports wear (Queensway meadows, industrial estate, Newport) and all items of uniform are available at the school. See the link at the bottom of this page.

Check the website for up to date costs.

It is not compulsory for uniforms to carry the school logo.

The Governors have agreed that school uniform should be worn on all but exceptional occasions.  The wearing of sports clothing or combat trousers is not considered appropriate.

Clothing for PE and Games

Physical Education is a compulsory National Curriculum subject and all children will be expected to take part in physical activities unless they are medically unfit to do so.  In such cases, a written request from parents is required to excuse the child from the lesson.

Children must be properly dressed for physical education and in the interest of safety and hygiene these clothes should be different from pupils' daily wear.

Indoor Activities (Gymnastics and Dance)

Your child will require:

A plain white tee shirt/polo shirt (girls may wear leotards)

Sports shorts (preferably black) and daps.

These items are available, at reasonable prices, from the school.

Loose fitting tops and knee length shorts and trainers are unsuitable for indoor work.

Outdoor Activities

In warm weather, a suitable top (e.g. football jersey or tee shirt), sports shorts and daps or trainers may be worn.  Football boots are essential for soccer and rugby.

In cold weather, a track suit may be worn over the above listed clothing.

P.E. clothing for Reception and Year 1 should be kept in school and used only for that subject.  It is recommended that a draw-string bag, clearly marked with the child's name, be used for this purpose.

Children in year 2 and above are to wear their PE kits to school on their allocated days. Please see class pages for more information.
